ABOUT US
The organizational meeting of LCA Federal Credit Union was held on December 17, 1956. Thirty eight potential members attended along with the nine members that incorporated the credit union idea. Officers were elected and guidelines were established. The first Directors meeting was held immediately after the organizational meeting. The maximum amount for unsecured loans was set at $25.00 and the maximum shares that can be held per individual was established at $500.00. Membership was offered to employees of Lithium Corporation of America and the credit union was located on the plant site. As Lithium Corporation grew and acquired subsidiaries; the field of membership grew to include these groups.
The name of the credit union changed to Lithium Federal Credit Union on March 1, 2004. The name change was requested in an effort to offer membership to local companies in the area. Member expansion was achieved in 2004 with the addition of five outside SEG groups joining the Credit Union. The Credit Union continues to add SEG groups in insure growth.
